Tim Howard Apple Of Houllier’s Eye? C’mon

Wont don checkers...

Salacious paper People.co.uk complete with the lack of even unsubstantiated anonymous sources claims Tim Howard–along with Manchester United keeper Tomasz Kukschak–are potential offseason targets of Villa manager Gerard Houllier.

You know what I call that “click fraud!” (Please don’t click here and reward this, but if you must.)

Tim Howard’s already commented his career track has him squarely at Goodison Park until a late career move to MLS.

Chances of this going down, 0.00001%.

Surprised that United didn’t insert a right-to-buy option when they sold him to Everton. He has the maturity to handle the pressure that comes with playing for a big club.

I could see him at Tottenham to be honest. Think that would be a great fit for both parties.

Either of the North London clubs would be good fits for Howard. Though Wenger probably feels Sczezny will be better than Neuer, van der Sar and Iker Casillas COMBINED, and SOON.

The reason I didn’t mention Arsenal is that Wenger doesn’t usually go for players who are 30 , does he? Especially if they cost decent wedge. That’s not really his M.O.

However, we shall see this summer what he does as I can see Almunia and Fabianski leaving, and Sczeny being the understudy. I can see him trying to take advantage of Given’s frustration at City. But will City sell to a direct competitor?

No, he doesn’t. City won’t sell and Arsenal won’t buy, I’m guessing. I mean, if he hasn’t seen the need to invest in the team by now, I’m guessing he won’t this summer (unless Nasri, Fabregas and Clichy deliver him an ultimatum in contract negotiations).

I think the problem for Arsenal s that good keepers generally cost a lot of money, money that Wenger is not willing to spend… although there was a rumour that he wanted Reina last summer and was willing to spend big, but Liverpool didn’t want to sell and Reina just signed a new contract.

I wonder if Howard let his contract run down to 12months, how many big clubs would be knocking at the door? It would be a pity if he never played CL football as he has the talent to play at that level.
