The RUMOUR mill has Everton joining the fray as well supposedly. WTH happened to George John and Brek Shea?- talk about stagnation. Can we get these guys a transfer?

Doubt Everton can afford him unless they move Baines first…or even if than. I don’t want to see Cameron go to the Potters because I think they’ll challenge the relegation line this year.

I don’t want to see him go to Stoke because he’s supposed to be our central defender who plays the ball. They don’t do that in central defense at Stoke. It’s long ball city to whichever tall striker who can barely trap the ball is up top.

          • Not to mention that Stoke isn’t exactly in need of a centerback. It wouldn’t be entirely out of the realm of possibility that Stoke would want him at center mid. This would definitely attract Cameron as I’m pretty sure he still feels he should be in midfield. Kinnear had to sit him down and basically tell him his future is as a centerback. However with only a year left on his contract and Houston’s depth at centerback, the FO is in a situation where they would have to be dumb not to sell and get themselves a new attacking mid.

Moneyball II: The David Moyes Story

David Moyes: “There’s Manchester City, there’s Wolves, Milton Keynes, a pile of ****, and then us”….

David Moyes: “Please owner of Chang Beer, give us 1 million quid to sign this promising American defenseman…”

Owner of Chang Beer: “No, you need to find another way to beat Liverpool.”

What did Eddie Johnson do? The random tweets without addtl info on the site or in comments are a bit maddening TBH.

    • The report from various news sources is that Johnson went over after the win and celebrated in front of the San Jose bench, reserve player Jed Zayner (who did not play in the game and was sitting on the bench) told him to celebrate on his own side and Eddie Johnson punched Zayner in the face.

Wow. That’s incredibly stupid. I hope they ban him for the rest of the season for that. Can MLS get involved since it was US Open Cup?

“Eddie Johnson was just taunting us in front of our bench, and celebrating and saying obscenities to our fans,” said Zayner, whose right eye was noticeably more closed than his left as he spoke to reporters. “I just walked up to him and said, ‘Eddie, you want to celebrate, go celebrate in front of your own bench.’ And he hit me in my face. That’s really it.”

          Would agree.

Knew Johnson had issues with his play, didn’t realize he was a huge punk.

          • Sigi Schmid is claiming that Johnson was shoved first.

Sounds like there also was a bust up/screaming in the locker room between Yallop and Schmetzer.

That’s great Sigi. So Johnson gets suspended for rest of the year for a punch and the other guy gets 3 games for the shove. Sounds fair to me especially since Johnson started it by being a punk.

Speaking of, why does Schmid get so much hype? His teams always seem to choke spectacularly in important situations outside of the Open Cup.

It was especially weird this year when everyone was like, “Oh, what a great start” while agreeing not to pay attention to the fact that a huge number were at home. Their backsliding is not exactly shocking when you consider that fact.

You guys just cant appreciate the greatness of Eddie Johnson. He’s better than MLS, didn’t you see the golazo vs. Portland. This dude should be tearing up the Championship- a league so much better than MLS that you cant even begin to grasp the difference in talent- with the Bluebirds of Cardiff, but he just doesn’t feel like it.

Eddie Johnson is the truth. They should retire his National Team jersey. That is all.

Meanwhile the Union have scored more goals in their last two games then their first twelve. Granted, last night they dropped five on my hometown Harrisburg City Islanders, but this is the same Islanders team Nowak lost to in a friendly with many of the starters playing. I would have loved to run into Nowak at Hersheypark.
