Best Guess?: USA Roster For Honduras February 6th

Klinsmann’s USA v. Honduras roster now updated.

You'll hear Mr. Clean's name a lot over the next 7 days.

You’ll hear Mr. Clean’s name a lot over the next 7 days.

According to US Soccer, the official roster for the United States first World Cup qualifier in San Pedro Sula is expected Sunday evening. One name we know is already Honduras bound is Tim Chandler who looks like he’ll finally sleep with the US after it took him to dinner and glamorous trips to far regions (like Italy and Slovenia, sort of.)

Also, Klinsmann noted after Tuesday’s match that there would be as many as eight or nine players traveling to Honduras from the January camp roster. We put the number below at six.

Here’s our best guess on who gets called.

(3) G: Tim Howard, Brad Guzan

The skinny: You could see Sean Johnson sneaking in here after a relative mundane clean sheet against Canada or even Nick Rimando as an emergency third keeper, but this isn’t a learning camp. It’s an efficient and quick business trip.

JA: "Great decision buddy. Now let's go fight racism and solve world hunger!" Chandler: "Is that an American thing?"

JA: “Great decision buddy. Now let’s go fight racism and solve world hunger!” Chandler: “Is that an American thing?”

(8) DEF: Tim Chandler, Geoff Cameron, Carlos Bocanegra, Michael Parkhurst, Edgar Castillo, Omar Gonzalez, Matt Besler

Need magic spray: Steve Cherundolo (out), Fabian Johnson (questionable)

The skinny: No Steven Cherundolo means that Tim Chandler’s commitment to the US is all the more important. While a boon to the US squad, Chandler is a vastly different player for the US than Cherundolo and the States will be hurt without Dolo’s unflappable ability to possess and move the ball out of the back. That is a real loss for the Yanks.

Fabian Johnson has been ailing as well and it’s a good bet that Klinsmann won’t want to draw the ire of Hoffenheim by bringing in a less-than-fit player for Honduras with the looming home-and-home against Mexico. That is, if Johnson is still injured as of this coming weekend. Healthy and he goes.

Edgar Castillo gets the call and in all likelihood gets the start as Michael Parkhurst hasn’t seen game time in his new Bundesliga I locale. Castillo has been much better than States’ fans have given him credit for in a US shirt over the past year with excellent efforts both in a draw with Canada and the win at Azteca; he’s also been on good club form.

Worse to worse–and heaven forbid–an injury to more than one fullback and Geoff Cameron can slide outside in a pinch as he plays both sides for Stoke City. (Note: Despite the injuries, don’t expect to see Cameron outside here in Honduras as you don’t rob….that Peter-Paul thing.)

I think it’s time to cut bait here with Clarence Goodson. Games last year against Italy and Guatemala proved that as competition gets tougher Goodson is less a capable back-up and more a liability. That liability should be better invested in a player who can grow and learn from it now. An Omar Gonzalez or a Matt Besler or both.

Oh and, yes fans, another name that could sneak in here: Michael Orozco Fiscal

The guy on the right would play his last game in a US shirt 3 years ago. The guy on the left looks to be sporting the crest again.

The guy on the right would play his last game in a US shirt 3 years ago. The guy on the left looks to be sporting the crest again.

(5) HUB: Danny Williams, Michael Bradley, Jermaine Jones, Kyle Beckerman, Benny Feilhaber*

The skinny: No surprises really here, save Benny Feilhaber who was tasked with showing Klinsmann that he could be a good soldier, good defender and team player coming off the bench against Canada.

Feilhaber, if you noticed, sat deeper than US fans are accustomed to seeing him in the national team shirt. Note that, as it likely portends that Feilhaber will be used more to link and get the ball up to the forwards as oppose to attack. He impressed with what he could against Canada and his reward will be this US roster.

Maurice Edu misses out as he adjusts to Turkey and is lacking match fitness.

* This tweet by Feilhaber suggests that he is not going to be called in for Honduras.

(6) STR/FW: Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, Graham Zusi, Herculez Gomez, Eddie Johnson, Joe Corona

The skinny: First, it looks like Josh Gatt headed back to Norway, so he’s not included here. The rest is the normal cast. Two interesting notes are Graham Zusi staying high against Canada instead of receding into the midfield. Seems Klinsmann thinks of him as an attacking hub. No true surprise there. Also is the note Eddie Johnson was used in the hole–but didn’t excel–against the Reds on Tuesday.

A Jose Torres call-in is always a possibility when Jurgy Love is in charge.

    No Kljestan?

    • Posted by matthewsf on 2013/01/31 at 3:29 PM

Good point, I think that he’s in the mix, but I would be surprised if Klinsmann would think it valuable to bring him in for this lone match.

    • Posted by dcole on 2013/02/01 at 11:38 AM

Maybe he was beaten out by Conor Casey, if the picture at the top of the story is any indication…

      • Posted by matthewsf on 2013/02/01 at 12:29 PM

Casey had his best moment and was the difference maker in a 2009 qualifier against Honduras in San Pedro Sula.

I agree with Ufficio. Bradley, Jones, Williams AND Beckerman? That may not be far-fetched considering Klinsmann’s past rosters, but I certainly wouldn’t bring them all in, esp considering Williams’ lack of form with Hoffenheim. Lichaj didn’t even warrant a mention despite the injury concerns at fullback? I hope Benny gets the call. It’s do-or-die with the USMNT for him this year.

    • Posted by Berniebernier on 2013/02/02 at 9:45 AM

Lichaj didn’t even make the 18 this weekend. He needs a move in the worst kind of way. He doesn’t seem to be developing at all.

No Playmaking MF hurts us. Unless Bradley is going to fit that roll. I don’t get Joe Corona call in for this game. Juan Agudello would be better as a late sub.
Also, Michael Parkhurst signed with FC Augsburg which is currently a Bundesliga 1 club at the bottom of the table..

    • Posted by s44 on 2013/01/31 at 6:02 PM

We’re almost certainly going with JJ and Bradley as dual 8s in front of Williams.

Two new fullbacks, no Donovan, on the road… It’s not going to be pretty.

    • Posted by Nick on 2013/01/31 at 6:36 PM

If those are the midfielders I think Clint plays the creative #10 regardless of where he’s at on the field.

      • Posted by Soccertes on 2013/02/01 at 5:38 AM

Which would be inappropriate, in my view. Deuce is not a creative playmaker. He’s a linkup guy/striker supporter who is at his best when he “toggles” between that role and a pure striker/poacher. That’s not to say those roles don’t require creativity, but his game is not suited to shoulder the full burden of midfield playmaking.

      • Posted by justin on 2013/02/02 at 3:05 PM

I think Deuce will start on the left and slide inside in a 4-3-3, and have fab J push up the right side. For Deuce to play second striker or withdrawn forward, that would require the US to have a left sided midfielder, which we don’t right now.

So 4-3-3 with deuce left, zusi right, and altidore in at striker, and fab J and chandler pushing up to fill in on the overlaps.

If we are down at the half, look for EJ/Herc to come in replacing jj or danny boy/beckerman and then dempsey will be tried as that #10.

    • Posted by matthewsf on 2013/02/01 at 12:30 PM

The US didn’t play with a playmaking midfielder against Guatemala or against Jamaica on the road. Klinsmann has shown a penchant to favor a defensive disposition away from home.

      • You are right, Clint is a #2 striker or a withdrawn one. He can’t carry a team like Donovan can.
This gets into semantics but you could argue that the US hasn’t had a true playmaking midfielder, a true #10, since maybe Tab Ramos. Reyna was more of a time keeper, ball circulator, a calmer version of MB90, while JOB was more like Iniesta than Xavi. JK’s vision of 11 attackers and 11 defenders doesn’t really require a classic #10. Now maybe that’s not what you mean by a playmaking midfielder; in that case Benny ought to do just fine for a half. In fact when back in 2007 when Mikey and Benny first started teaming up I thought they would be the US’ central pairing for the next 8 years.

    “Speed? You mean the movie?”
    –Jurgen, probably.

  5. Posted by unumstreet on 2013/01/31 at 11:53 PM

Please no Jermaine Jones. Anymore. His much discussed “bite” seems to appear primarily when he has killed possession with a silly give away. Couldn’t we go with a front six that was some tactical alignment of:

Altidore, Dempsey, EJ, Bradley, Zusi/Klestjan, Williams.

Our outside backs — given their anticipated inexperience in Castillo and Chandler — will likely stay home much more so than Johnson or Cherundolo. Consequently, we are going to have to generate at least SOME offense from our front six. Pulling EJ or Zusi/Klestjan in favor of a Jones (or Beckerman) seems to me a troubling recipe for, well, nothing. As in no speed of play, no service, no chances, no goals. No matter how well we clog the middle of the pitch with heavy-tackling midfielders, Honduras will get their chances, and they will likely, at some point, sneak a goal. The question is can we put two on them by the end of the night?

  6. Posted by Union on 2013/02/01 at 12:02 AM

Eddie Johnson over Boyd? Boyd killed it for Vienna. Come on now. I think Gatt is a possibility, if for no other reason than this lineup posted looks old, slow and incredibly boring.

Also- I like Herc and know he is a fan favorite, especially of this board. But he shouldn’t be starting. I’m very suspect of him being able to score goals unless its off a set piece. He just doesnt have the speed/technical ability needed at this level. I know hes smart and works his ass off but we need more than that. We need to start developing a young, technically capable team. Not a team that plays down to the competition we need to beat (in other words, veterans might sneak out wins against Honduras and Jamaica, but they get smoked by the Mexico’s).

My prediction is an ugly game in Honduras that has US fans hoping for some speed and some Donovan for the next game.

    • Posted by Byrdman on 2013/02/01 at 9:01 AM

Didn’t he have four or five goals last year for USMNT? most in qualifying. I could be wrong, but it seems to me he found a number garbage type goals. He just seems to be a right place, right time type of guy. I am not saying I want him starting in Brazil, but for next week in San Pedro Sura, I sure want him around.

    • Posted by matthewsf on 2013/02/01 at 12:32 PM

I like Boyd — I’m not just betting on Klinsmann. I don’t see Boyd being used in CONCACAF. Klinsmann has shown a penchant to favor MLS Champion’s League players or Primera players in CONCACAF games and European players in Europe.

Boyd could be there and he’s playing great and likely in the 23 for the World Cup if it were chosen now, but I think this is a going to be a veteran group for a one-game.

      • Posted by Union on 2013/02/01 at 7:26 PM

Fair point. Listen I completely get the mindset of “craft a roster that is best suited for each qualifying game”. Aka, against the lesser teams in our group, take the veterans who have played away CONCACAF games before and have the grit to win against the style of teams like Honduras. They might not have the flash, raw talent…but they have what it takes to beat the….shall we say…more annoying, yet increasingly more dangerous opponents.

I just don’t entirely agree with that mindset. And don’t get me wrong, I know Herc has a lot of goals to his name in qualifying. And I’ve been the biggest critic of Jozy’s international form. But I’d argue that the above mindset is what resulted in such a tough qualifying test. I mean – the US was on the ropes in a group that included Guatemala and Antigua Barbuda. I know qualifying has always been tough, but the US hasn’t been on the ropes like that in awhile. We need to start integrating these young, skillful players sooner rather than later. As Matt stated, it was this time in qualifying 4 years ago that Jozy was first integrated into the squad.

    • Posted by schmutzdeck on 2013/02/02 at 9:41 AM

EJ is more proven in WC qualifying than Boyd, especially recently.

Four years ago Jozy was integrated into the process because the alternatives were Conor Casey and Brian Ching who were unconvincing. Jozy scored something like five goals in his first seven games which included a number of qualfiers.

You never know, EJ could go on a similar run. With EJ, Jozy, Gomez and Agudelo around JK does not have the same pressure that BB had.

I bet he would say there is no need to rush Boyd.who has not been as involved with the team lately as the guys I just mentioned.

I get you are a Boyd fan but EJ’s unexpected emergence has just complicated Boyd’s USMNT life a bit. That is a good thing for the team.

Does Feilhaber’s Saturday trip to his new team’s HQ automatically signal a non-callup for Honduras? Would he be doing something else if he’d been told otherwise? I have my fingers crossed that Benny will be coming. He was the only MF on Tues who showed initiative and ability to play balls through tight spots in the final third. I hope JK brings him.

As for Gatt, I think his return to Norway all but confirms he won’t be coming – that’s a very long, very tiring, very unnecessary trip to make if you’ve got a huge game in Central America in 7 days. That said, I liked what I saw in Gatt v. the Molson Boyz, but at this stage he is still raw (sorry for the cliche) and unseasoned. My glass half-empty assessment is he looks like a rich man’s Robbie Rogers – super speedy and eager to run at defenders, but with better technical ability (and pace) than the Leeds reject – but I prefer to assume the glass half-full viewpoint and hope that Gatt is, for the time being, a poor man’s Gareth Bale. Hopefully, a wealth of experience and practice will eventually make him the real thing.

    • Posted by Charles in Charge on 2013/02/01 at 10:16 AM

A healthy Shea is closer to a poor mans Bale than Gatt. Hope that shea and holden get things back on track quickly, their qualities are needed if we are to survive the Hex.

I bet we see Eddie at LW/LM to start, Zusi at RW/RM, Jozy and Clint up top, Bradley and Dwill in mid. Chandler Cameron Boca Castillo, Howard

But big picture, if we need to rely on Herc, Eddie, Zusi, Jermaine Jones, Gatt, etc to create for us, we are in trouble. Not just losing to mexico trouble, but possibly losing to CR, Hon, Jamaica, etc

Still think some variation of the 4-4-2 is best for this team. Especially if Clint is playing in behind the other ST. Still need speed and width to counter attack, dont need 5 different CMs

  8. Posted by dcole on 2013/02/01 at 9:04 AM

Why is Conor Casey pictured? You know that’s not Michael Bradley, right?

    • Posted by matthewsf on 2013/02/01 at 12:27 PM

Conor Casey scored two goals in October of 2009 to put the US in the World Cup. It was probably his best moment in a US shirt and it came on the US’s last visit in WCQ to face Honduras in San Pedro Sula.

Newsflash though. Honduras’s defense isn’t anything to write home about. Reminder, last time, the US slipped 3 by on the road in Honduras. If Honduras came up to the States and did that to the US it would be a major calamity.

The US doesn’t really hold the ball through a traditional possessing midfielder, because they really don’t have one and Torres has proved tentative at best. Michael Bradley is still the best option there though he lacks creativity.

      • He does, but at least Bradley’s speed of thought and ability to control the ball and start an attack from 35-40 yards out is something that most of our guys don’t have. He is not and never will be a Xavi or a Pirlo, but I’d rather have him distributing to our wings and diving into the box as a trailer than anyone else in the player pool. He’s not a possession-based player but he does have more in his bag of tricks than just being the holding midfielder.

Also, I don’t think we have another player that dangerous with the ball at his feet from 30-40 yards out. The midfield has to close down on him when he has the ball out there and that can open the space between the back line and the central midfielders, or force lanes to open between midfielders.

  10. Posted by matthewsf on 2013/02/01 at 12:52 PM

    Thiis is Honduras’s roster:

Goalkeepers (3): Noel Valladares (Olimpia), Donis Escober (Olimpia), José Mendoza (Marathón)

Defenders (8): Arnold Peralta (Vida), Bryan Beckeles (Olimpia), Víctor Bernardez (San Jose Earthquakes), Osman Chávez (Wisla Krakow/Poland), Maynor Figueroa (Wigan Athletic), Juan Pablo Montes (Platense), Emilio Izaguirre (Celtic/Scotland), Juan Carlos García (Olimpia)

Midfielders (8): Luis Garrido (Red Star Belgrade), Jorge Claros (Hibernian), Roger Espinoza (Wigan Athletic/England), Alex Lopez (Olimpia), Andy Najar (D.C. United), Oscar Boniek García (Houston Dynamo), Mario Martínez (Seattle Sounders), Aldo Oviedo (Real España)

Forwards (4): Jerry Bengtson (New England Revolution), Roger Rojas (Olimpia), Carlo Costly (Veria/Greece), Georgie Welcome (Motagua)

Bernardez improves their backline. Beyond Espinoza they are not especially strong in the defensive midfield.

Bengston is good and will eat up US mistakes. No Palacios, no Thomas as they’ve aged presents something for Honduras to surmount.

Feilhaber’s tweet does not mean he is not being chosen, just means he hasn’t got the word yet…reading way too much into that…Parkurst should get called for his versatility, someone said we would get up the wings less with Castillo and Chandler, i disagree, they will get us up the wings more, Castillo lives to push forward and Chandler on the right can push hard…someone said Gatt has more tech skill than Rogers? Gatt shows zero technical ability, just get the ball and run forward…he looks to be more physical than Rogers…lastly, Gomez is crucial, works hard, creates chances for others, strikes at goal, defends back, holds up the ball, pressures the back line and is technically gifted, what you been watching?

    • Posted by schmutzdeck on 2013/02/02 at 9:52 AM

In the Canada game Gatt did something only Shea and Donovan have done in recent memory, make repeated attacking runs at the defense from deep. Somebody has to.
He’ll work off the rough edges over time.

He also seems more solid and feisty than I thought, which is a good thing.

    Honduras possible starting 11
    Noel Valladares(olimpia)-Captain 4-4-2

    RCM-Boniek Garcia- CM-Roger Espinoza-Jorge Claros-LCM

Looking like it’s Evans, Besler, Zusi, EJ as at least 4 of the call-ins.

    • Posted by Union on 2013/02/01 at 7:54 PM

Evans? Jesus. I hope as insurance at RB. Not in the 18.

I get Besler. I get Zusi – we can excuse his form and in fairness he’s prob the next MLS guy to head overseas. I know EJ saved our asses against Guatemala, but I just—I can’t stomach the fact that he’s becoming a regular in the gameday 18 for the national team. Is that really how bad our depth is for attacking players?

      • Posted by Paul on 2013/02/02 at 1:31 AM

Union, I agree that certain things don’t look good for the US side right now. Including too many MLS players who haven’t shown ability outside of camp, an otiose obsession over Feilhaber, the coach’s personal man-crush on EJ; and now Honduras trolls on TSG. Signs of poor result on Wednesday? Perhaps, but I looking at our attackers I see a lack of quality integration of new, dynamic players, along with an inability of a coach to inspire creative attacks in the final third. What made this last game far more troublesome than most realized is that it followed a pattern of Klinsi getting time with players and not relaying his offensive plan to them. Further, his nasty talk about players needing to challenge themselves makes me think his positive thinking mentality might need to be advanced in ways he does not appreciate.

The next few handful of games will demonstrate if Klinsimann has the ability to lead this team, or if he cannot imput his ideal into his current crop of players. He has the pieces, but so few of them are working well together, especially in the attacking end. Depth is not the problem, not having a player who is a “playmaker” in central midfield is not the problem. Instead, the whole system of attacking the goal seems disjointed, a disconnection between what the coach has drawn up and the players’ inability to see that plan through.

But this is when things count. These are the games Klinsmann nees to win. Smarter tactics, smarter roster selection, better use of his growing youth talent (Mixx, Boyd, ect.)–these are the things that we need to be successful in the final round of qualifying and beyond. Maybe the Gold Cup is when we see youth being given its chance; hopefully, before then, to maximize the integration of these pieces into the national side.

        • Posted by Union on 2013/02/02 at 9:36 PM

Agree with a lot of this, though I have a hard time placing blame on Jurgen for the lack of quality in the final third. That has been a problem US soccer has dealt with forever. US soccer has forever been a team that scores off counters and set pieces. Never on crafty/creative passing/vision in the final third. Thats a cultural thing.

I do think that Jurgen gets a little too caught up in his ideology. If Evans/Davis are on the team and Kljestan isn’t, I think someone needs to kick JK in the ass and tell him to wake up. We shall see.

  18. Posted by john mosby on 2013/02/01 at 6:46 PM

it looks like the player usa have to contain is oscar boniak garcia. do that and we should be able to get a good handle on this game.

Fabian Johnson playing today for Hoffenheim. I don’t expect him to be called up for 1 game when coming off of injury but he is at least a possibility.

    • Posted by Ufficio on 2013/02/02 at 10:37 AM

He missed one game. Given our “depth” at fullback, I’ll be surprised if he isn’t called.

  20. Any concern that Cameron has 1. been playing right back for Stoke City, and 2. been in poor form lately?

    • Posted by Union on 2013/02/02 at 9:39 PM

Haven’t heard about his poor form at Stoke. He is still in the starting XI regularly.

    • Posted by Damon on 2013/02/03 at 6:54 AM

Having a ball deflect off him and go in on a free kick in the arsenal game does not constitute “poor form”

      • Posted by GeorgeCross on 2013/02/03 at 9:52 AM

Who mentioned the deflection? If you have watched the last few Stoke games you will see he has not played particularly well – certainly has not played as well as he has been.

        • Posted by john mosby on 2013/02/03 at 11:58 AM

i think the point with cameron is that he is playing multiple positions of need for stoke. for goodness sake, he started in an attacking midfield spot yesterday ahead of charlie adam.

put cameron in his more natural middle defensive position and he will shine. he has stayed healthy, which is most important and he is showing in the epl that he can be a very valuable contributor and has become, what looks like pretty indispensible to tony pulis.

        • Posted by schmutzdeck on 2013/02/03 at 1:33 PM

“If you have watched the last few Stoke games you will see he has not played particularly well – certainly has not played as well as he has been.”

If that is so then why does Pulis keep sending Cameron out there? If you want someone on the field, regardless of position either you like him a lot or you really hate the players he is displacing.

          • Posted by matthewsf on 2013/02/03 at 2:25 PM

Have to be homer and say that Cameron has played excellent lately. He got moved to the left because Wilson (I think) was doing a horrific job then and then against Arsenal he got moved up high to try and stem the distribution from Arsenal. He’s become very good with his left foot–he must’ve put some work in.

Actually had the occasion (another homer alert) to speak to Geoff the other day and he was saying that single game he missed Pulis wanted to give him a rest because he had used him nearly every Stoke game this season.

            • Posted by GeorgeCross on 2013/02/03 at 9:02 PM

Not saying he has been bad all season. In fact he has been very good. Just saying in the last few games, he has looked very sluggish. I know he was moved into midfield vs. Arsenal, but he was terribly uncomfortable there, had very little vision, and was way out of his depth.

And I am not TP (or Freud), so how would I know what he is thinking?

PS Didn’t he break away from the wall?

  21. Posted by justin on 2013/02/02 at 2:48 PM

How crazy is it when our best two attacking outside midfielders are starting at FB, chandler and fab j, and they don’t play more forward? especially we have other guys two guys who are talented enough to start behind them, in parkhurst and castillo (with lichaj as a back up to both of them?

if we had anyone right now who could play on the wing better than these two guys i’d understand. i just feel like i’m taking crazy pills when the solution, even to try, seems so simple.

and from klinsi’s perspective how much defensive integrity do we lose when we have these 4 FB’s on the field. I feel like if we are down in the 2nd half this has to at least be one option.

    • Posted by Damon on 2013/02/03 at 6:56 AM

The best wide players we have on the team are the Full backs which to me means that the team should be playing 3 in the back. Williams has been playing some CB for his club which makes him a perfect hybrid player to use as the 3rd CB. Something like this formation:

Besler (Kardashian Picture), Davis (Fan Picture), and EJ and Brad Evans (Sigi’s interview). Anyone else confirmed?

And you have to think that Omar is getting called in right? That is 6 from January camp. The rest?

Gomez, Dempsey, Corona, Chandler, Castillo, Johnson, Cameron, Boca, Jozy, Bradley, Jones, Williams, Howard, Guzan, Parkhurst, Beckerman…

That is what I expect. I think thats a gross roster. 0…ZERO…speed. Would really like to see Gatt, Boyd…hell even Gyau get into the squad. I know Gyau hasn’t done anything professionally, but…it seems Jurgen has decided that he is okay calling in one dimensional players if he thinks it can solve a problem. That is the only reason it makes sense that he is calling in so many of these overrated castoffs from the MLS. Why not see what Gyau can do to add some width? Instead of having a midfield full of defensive minded players who (aside from Bradley) offer nothing in the attack? Rant over.

Why are you ranting when you don’t even know who JK has picked yet?

        • Posted by matthewsf on 2013/02/03 at 2:29 PM

I think Klinsmann really doesn’t care as much about speed and I think that’s fair given his system. The US doesn’t play on the counter anymore (or at least not all that much) because it put the US backline under too much duress upon a turnover.

I think you have to look at this game an anomaly. There are what, three practices, before the game. The best players who are prepared for this game either just went through a US camp (Brad Evans, etc.) or are veterans–so I would specifically say not an, um, guy like Gyau (I know it’s “jow”).
To me this is not a game for experimentation. This is a game where you hunker down and try to eek out a 1-0 win on the road–just like the Guatemala match (save the pressure upfield won’t be as intense.)

Will they be training in Miami before heading south? FIU campus again?

  24. Posted by chris_thebassplayer on 2013/02/02 at 11:30 PM

No time to mess around with untested defenders. I think JK will put on an experienced defensive side….maybe even two deep Dmids….very boring stuff in the attacking third. Typical away Hex qualifier…stack the D, steal a goal on a corner or set piece… manage the game to get out with a point.

    “Wingless wonders!”
    –Klinsmann, probably.

Anyway, surprising to see Kljestan called up. That was nice. Not so nice was: only one winger-ish, not a lot of speed, other than Dempsey not a ton of creativity. Very blah roster. Klinsmann’s going for the draw, folks!

Admiring the time and effort you put into your website and detailed information you provide. It’s good to come across a blog every once in

your site and I’m including your RSS feeds to my Google account.
Hello! I’ve been reading your weblog for a while now and finally got the courage to
go ahead and give you a shout out from Houston Tx! Just
wanted to say keep up the excellent work!
I’m really enjoying the theme/design of your web site. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility issues? A handful of my blog visitors have complained about my site not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Opera. Do you have any solutions to help fix this problem?
I am curious to find out what blog platform you happen to be working with? I’m
experiencing some minor security issues with my latest website and I would like to find something more safe.
    Do you have any suggestions?
Hmm it appears like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so
I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any suggestions for first-time blog writers? I’d genuinely
    appreciate it.
Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appeal. I must say you have done a awesome job with this. Additionally, the blog loads very fast for me on Firefox. Outstanding Blog!
Do you mind if I quote a few of your posts as long as I provide credit and sources back to your weblog? My website is in the exact same niche as yours and my visitors would definitely benefit from a lot of the information you present here. Please let me know if this okay with you. Thanks a lot!
Hey there would you mind letting me know which webhost you’re utilizing?
I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker then most. Can you recommend a good internet hosting provider at a reasonable price? Cheers, I appreciate it!
Fantastic site you have here but I was wanting to know if you knew of any user discussion forums that cover the same topics talked about in this article? I’d really love to
be a part of online community where I can get comments from

If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Kudos!

Hello there! This is my first comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out and tell you I genuinely

that go over the same subjects? Thanks a ton!

are looking to swap solutions with others, be sure to shoot me an e-mail if interested.

Please let me know if you’re looking for a author for your site. You have some really good articles and I believe I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d absolutely love to write some articles for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine.
Please send me an e-mail if interested. Kudos!
Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is valuable and everything. Nevertheless
imagine if you added some great photos or videos to give your posts more, “pop”!
Your content is excellent but with pics and videos, this website could undeniably be
one of the very best in its niche. Superb blog!

Awesome blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from
somewhere? A design like yours with a few simple adjustements would really make my blog stand out.
Please let me know where you got your design.
    Many thanks
Hey there would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with? I’m planning to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a difficult time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!

Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your content seem to
be running off the screen in Chrome. I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know.
The style and design look great though! Hope you
get the problem resolved soon. Kudos
With havin so much written content do you
ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright infringement?
My website has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my authorization. Do you know any solutions to help prevent content from being ripped off? I’d truly appreciate it.

Have you ever considered writing an ebook or guest authoring on other blogs?
I have a blog based upon on the same ideas you discuss and would love to have you
share some stories/information. I know my subscribers would enjoy your work.

    . Any suggestions? Thanks!
My coder is trying to persuade me to move to .

net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.
But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a number of websites for about a
year and am nervous about switching to another platform.

I have heard very good things about Is there a way
I can transfer all my wordpress content into it?

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each
time a comment is added I get three e-mails with the

    Many thanks!
Howdy! This is my first visit to your blog!

He always kept talking about this. I will forward this page to him.
Fairly certain he will have a good read. Many thanks for sharing!

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video
to make your point. You clearly know what youre talking about, why
throw away your intelligence on just posting videos to
your weblog when you could be giving us something informative to
Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea
shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear
and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell
Yesterday, while I was at work, my sister stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a 40 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation.

I was curious if you ever considered changing the
layout of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with
it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two pictures.
Maybe you could space it out better?
