Missed Fulham this morning. How did Brek Shea look?

In other news…Mikey was dropped from the starting 11 for Roma last week. Seemed like it was coming after a string of meh performances. In watching him over the season,he seems to have reverted to more non-positive distribution with 2-3 less than stellar unforced errors per game. Totti seemed to be losing patience with him judging by gestures and body language and you know what that means with Roma….

Yes- he does seem to be going through one of those spells.Hopefully he will come out of it soon.

He did not get a look except the obligatory run out for none playing subs during the 2nd half. Cameron came off after 51 minutes.
    Shea is new-give him time……

I think he has the body, speed and talent to do well. I’m looking forward to see how he develops.

Does Seattle have both of the two best GKs in the league?

Why can’t more of our keepers find their way to Europe? Lack national team call ups is the only thing I can think of thus precluding them from getting a work permit. I watch games from all over the big 3 leagues in Europe and the goal keeping is truly shocking more times then it is outstanding.

Also- does anybody remember a kid who started in goal for Sigi’s U20 WC team in Holland about 5 years (or more) ago? He was playing in France for Troyes in the 2nd division. I always wondered what happened to him. It was back when Adu was still hot stuff on the world seen and Sigi was breathing fire down his neck at every turn.

What brought this up is I saw that Troyes had finally made to the French first division and checked the rooster but his name was not there. No big deal- just wondering.

Which goalkeeper(s) are you referring to?
For the most part, it’s probably not a case of being being inferior, but a question of them being actually better than European goalkeepers, but the work permit is more than likely an issue too.

no, quinten westberg does not play for troyes anymore, but michael bradley does play for roma and he started today and had the game winning assist.

Quentin Westberg. Wikipedia says he’s at US Lazenac in the French 3rd division, but who knows how accurate that is…

            Yes-that is him. Thank you.
I guess his career never took flight . He did look good in that tournament. Either that or Sigi spent so much time yelling at Adu I just did not notice what was going on.

Well, forget Europe — but just in general. I’ve seen some bad goalkeeping in the Mexican league, for example. And yet there are some very good GKs across the border.
